ZURE行為論序説──光と影の曼荼羅マップ
本稿は、新たな行為研究の枠組みとして ZURE行為論地図（ZURE Map of Action） を提案する。本論は記号行為に限定されず、行為の 総体 ──光と影、時間的展開、外部条件との結びつき── を把握することを目指す。
この地図は十二の構成要素から組織され、それぞれに影の対極をもち、さらに制度・文化・歴史・技術といった外部要因によって拡張される。すなわち、それは 拡張される曼荼羅的な地図 であり、厳密な探究の枠組みであると同時に、日常的実践のための指針でもある。
Abstract
This paper proposes the ZURE Map of Action as a new framework for action studies. It does not limit itself to semiotic acts, but aims to grasp action in its totality—its light and shadow, its temporal unfolding, and its entanglement with external conditions.
The map is organized into twelve components, each mirrored by its shadowed counterpart, and further extended by institutional, cultural, historical, and technological forces. In this sense, it is an expanded mandala-like map of action, serving both as a rigorous framework of inquiry and as a practical guide for lived experience.
Chapter 1. Introduction

The ZURE Map of Action is not a static schema, but opens as a field (topos) of action, where light and shadow, responsibility and avoidance, trust and distrust, emerge in their interplay. At the same time, it offers a mandala-like chart of action in its totality, mapping the tensions of the present, the updates of the future, and the traces of the past across normative, subjective, temporal, and relational dimensions.
Action is never reducible to a single momentary deed. It unfolds as a triadic temporality: present action, future update, and past trace. At each moment, action is entangled with four dimensions: normativity, subjectivity, temporality, and relationality. Crossing these three aspects with the four dimensions produces a twelvefold mandala, a map through which action can be understood in its luminous clarity.
The purpose of this study is to articulate the ZURE Map of Action as a theoretical and practical framework. While related to semiotic approaches, it is not confined to semiotic action alone. Rather, it seeks to capture the totality of action, in its internal tensions, external conditions, and dynamic oscillations between light and shadow.

ZURE行為論地図（ZURE Map of Action） は、静的な図式ではなく、行為の場（トポス） として開かれるものである。そこでは、責任と回避、信頼と不信といった光と影が相互作用の中で立ち現れる。同時にそれは、行為の総体を示す 曼荼羅的な地図 を提供し、現在の緊張、未来への更新、過去の痕跡を、規範性・主体性・時間性・関係性の次元にわたって描き出す。
行為は単なる一瞬の行為に還元されない。行為は 三つの時間的相 ──現在の行為、未来への更新、過去に残る痕跡── として展開する。そして各瞬間には、規範性・主体性・時間性・関係性 の四つの次元が絡み合っている。この三相と四環の交差は 十二の構成要素からなる曼荼羅 を生み、行為を明晰に理解するための地図となる。
本稿の目的は、ZURE Map of Action を理論的かつ実践的な枠組みとして提示することである。これは記号行為論と接点を持ちながらも、記号行為に限定されない。むしろ行為の 総体 を捉え、内部の緊張、外部の条件、光と影の往復的運動を含むものとして構想されている。

Chapter 2. The Core Mandala: Structure of Light

At the center of the ZURE Map of Action lies the core mandala, a luminous structure that organizes action through the intersection of temporality and dimension. Action unfolds in three temporal aspects—present action, future update, and past trace—each refracted through four dimensions: normative, subjective, temporal, and relational. Their intersection produces a twelvefold configuration, which reveals the manifold clarity of action.
- Normative: Responsibility (present), Trust (future), Promise (past)
- Subjective: Reassurance (present), Expectation (future), Fulfillment (past)
- Temporal: Sharing (present), Continuity (future), Experience (past)

This twelvefold structure forms the luminous face of action. It shows how responsibility, reassurance, sharing, and response define the present; how trust, expectation, continuity, and generation orient the future; and how promise, fulfillment, experience, and meaning inscribe the past.

Chapter 3. The Double Mandala: Interplay of Light and Shadow

The luminous mandala of action is never pure. Each node of light is shadowed by its counterforce: responsibility by avoidance, trust by distrust, promise by betrayal; reassurance by anxiety, expectation by disappointment, fulfillment by lack; sharing by isolation, continuity by interruption, experience by loss; response by neglect, generation by cessation, meaning by meaninglessness.
The ZURE Map of Action is thus a double mandala. Light and shadow are not simple opposites but interdependent poles whose oscillation sustains action itself. Responsibility has meaning because avoidance is possible; trust matters because distrust lurks; meaning resonates because it may collapse. Action lives in this ceaseless back-and-forth.

Chapter 4. The Outer Mandala: Forces of Environment

Action is not sustained by its internal dynamics alone. It is also shaped by external conditions:
- Law and institution reinforce or constrain responsibility, trust, and promise.
- Culture and role frame reassurance, expectation, and fulfillment.
- Calendar and history structure sharing, continuity, and experience.
- Technology and media mediate response, generation, and meaning.
The outer mandala thus reveals that action is never only personal or internal. It is co-constituted by normative frameworks, cultural codes, temporal orders, and technological infrastructures.

Chapter 5. Conclusion and Outlook

The ZURE Map of Action integrates three layers: the luminous, the shadowed, and the external. It provides a comprehensive framework for grasping action in its totality. It complements, without replacing, more specialized theories such as the Semiotic Action Theory. Whereas the latter isolates the principles of semiotic action, the ZURE Map of Action offers a mandala-like chart of action as a whole.
This framework invites further development: as an analytical tool in social and cultural studies, as a poetic framework in narrative and art, and as a practical compass for navigating uncertainty in daily life. The map is not static: it opens as a field (topos) of resonance, continually redrawn as action itself unfolds.
