Abstract

This section defines breakdown as the cessation of maintenance within Social ψ.

Unlike drift (ZURE), which produces transformation, breakdown terminates the operation of time by ending maintenance.

When maintenance ceases, time does not drift—it disappears into residual traces.

Thus, breakdown marks the transition from maintained time to oblivion.

However, drift presupposes continuity of maintenance.

1. Definition of Breakdown

Definition:

Breakdown is the cessation of maintenance within Social ψ.

This implies:

• no updating

• no reference

• no shared recognition

Thus:

time can no longer be sustained.

2. Not Drift

Breakdown must be distinguished from drift:

• drift → misalignment within maintenance

• breakdown → absence of maintenance

Thus:
